A warm welcome from all of us at Truro School. Normally we would be inviting you to view our busy, happy school full of pupils and staff in classrooms and around the campus to talk to. This is our virtual tour but we hope that by seeing what we have here you will get a bit of an insight into life at Truro School. We have also included some useful resources and downloads to help you find out more about Truro School.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss next steps or arrange a virtual meeting, please contact us at email@example.com.

We interviewed some of our current 1st and 2nd Years, and Mrs Duke, their Head of Year, about life at Truro School, including how they felt when they started, their favourite subjects and what activities they like to do in their free time.
In October each year, we invite families to join us for an open morning full of fun activities, unfortunately, our priority to safeguard you and our current pupils and staff made this unwise this year. Instead, we invited guests to join us for an interactive event to find out more about our warm and welcoming community. You can watch the recording of the live Q&A below. Please click here if you would like to join us for our 2021 open morning.
*Virtual tour update: From September 2020 the First Year pupils will follow a Language Carousel during the first term, in which they will gain exposure to French, German and Spanish on rotation. They will select their preferred two languages to continue from January and pick up their second language in Second Year, where they will study both languages.
Our school motto, Esse Quam Videri (to be, rather than to seem to be), captures the essence of our identity and is defined by the 5 C's below. Underpinned by strong Christian principles, we are a caring and inclusive community which values, nurtures and develops each individual.

To be and to become learners for life, to enjoy the discovery and development of knowledge, understanding, skills and interests, and to critically examine the world around us.
Because we believe that academic excellence is an important part of human excellence. Every child is an individual and we celebrate and develop their uniqueness, helping them to become an independent learner and encouraging each child to explore, understand and cultivate their talent and abilities, whatever they may be.
To be aware of and to champion the needs of others, with charitable hearts, as part of a commitment to benefit the Cornish community, and the world beyond.
Because our mission challenges us to be a vibrant community which enables people to live their lives to the full and transform society for the better. Located in the heart of Cornwall, our distinctive, serene location supports the development of balanced, unpretentious and reflective children who understand their role as global citizens.
To be people who relish intellectual and wider challenge, and to build resilience by learning from both success and failure alike, on our educational journeys.
Because we want every pupil to be comfortable in their own skin, celebrating the uniqueness of each individual in the school community. Through drama, presenting and public speaking opportunities, as well as appearing in productions and concerts, pupils learn key communication skills and gain the confidence to prosper in the real world.
To be people who relish the search for new ideas and approaches that positively and sustainably shape our lives, the lives of others, and our environment.
Because we value the development of pupils’ imaginative and creative dimensions as well as their characters. Through a broad curriculum and wide range of co-curricular activities, pupils discover the important balance between creative and logical thinking. These opportunities are fundamental to ensuring your son or daughter discovers their hidden gifts, developing a sense of individuality and a confidence in their own abilities.
To be and to become the very best of who we are, by bravely examining and discovering the personal beliefs and faiths that will guide us through our lives.
Because we believe that essential life skills are often best taught outside of the classroom, balancing an academic education. Through a wide-ranging co-curricular programme, we offer every child the chance to participate, perform and lead in the fields of their choice. In a competitive world these opportunities are fundamental to ensuring your son or daughter develops essential life skills and an ambition for life.
