Uganda Trip – Safari – Days Nine and Ten

Uganda Trip – Day 9

We left for Sambiya River Lodge at 9:00 am, stopping off at Masinga hotel for a buffet lunch half way through our journey. After five and a half hours on the bus we arrived at the lodge to find our ‘exotic’ rooms and became one with nature, as we had our own private safari within and around the rooms, meeting lizards, bats, buffaloes and warthogs before the real safari even began!
We spent the afternoon chilling by the pool and finishing the night with a close to home meal (chips and chicken/fish/steak/burgers)!

Uganda Trip – Day 10

With an eventful night of noises and various flying and crawling close encounters, we woke up at 4:45 am to leave at 5:45 am to go on the day’s safaris (land and water). We had breakfast at the hippo pool in the Murchison Falls safari park. On this trip we saw: Buffalo, Elephant, Giraffe, Deer, Lions, Warthogs, Baboons and a Monitor lizard.
Truro School - Uganda Trip 2015
After an eventful safari chasing a pair of hunting lions, we had lunch at the Red Chilli rest camp and then waited for 2 hours without any complaints to find ourselves with our own boat with a roof that people could sit on (four at a time) and enjoy the amazing journey seeing: Hippos, Elephants, Crocodiles, varieties of birds, Water bucks and even more Baboons!
We ended up at the foot of Murchison Falls, before turning round and heading back down the Nile at sunset.
