On Wednesday 28 January, six of Truro School’s top upper sixth biologists took part in the British Biology Olympiad. Two students attained a bronze award and Louise Myers, Megan Dalton and Louise Johns received silver awards after each putting in a stellar performance in the online exam.
Sarah Finnegan, Head of Biology said:
‘Getting three silvers in round one is a great achievement. The Society of Biology, who run the competition, set the bar very high and I am very proud of all of the students who took part. Grateful thanks also goes to my team of dedicated staff who put on extra lessons at lunch to help prepare students for the Olympiad.’
All pupils who took part are granted membership of the Society of Biology for the coming year and will receive certificates for the efforts in the near future.
