Truro School vs Truro High School – Rounders Match Report

Truro School Vs Truro High School

Under 12: Won 19 ½ – 5

Another convincing performance by the U12s, dominating against local rivals. Truro batted and fielded well. Top scorer was Laura with 4 ½ rounders. Rosie and Milly both taking catches and scoring 3 ½ rounders each.
Under 13: Won 16-13 ½

The team batted very well, with some great hitting. Fielding was tight, and they held the Truro High girls to a low score in their first innings. In the second innings the Truro High girls improved their fielding, and when batting, a few big hitters raised their score, but our girls were equal to the challenge and held on to the lead created in the first half.
Under 14: Won 18 ½ – 12

The team, captained by Abby, won the toss and chose to field first. They conceded just six rounders in the first innings but their first batting innings started a little shakily. With five of the girls being caught or stumped out with their first bat, Amelia, Milly, Lily, Amy and Alisa, the only ones to make it to a second bat, had to rise to the challenge.  They managed a remarkable 13.5 rounders’ between them. Ahead at the half way point the girls had to field well. Again six rounder’s were scored by the High School and the girls went into their second round of batting having already won. The High School fielded very well and the girls added just five further rounder’s to their tally.
Under 15: Won 14- 5 ½

With a late minute injury in the warm up meant the team were down to eight players! Fielding first, Truro got off to a shaky start but soon settled and got themselves focused. Super bowling by Cerys and safe hands by Savvy on first post saw THS struggling to score. Some super batting by Amy P, Cerys and Jaz H, secured the win for Truro in the first innings, an excellent whole team performance, well done.
