Truro School vs Redruth School – Rounders Match Report

Truro School Vs Redruth School

Under 12’s: Won 17 ½ – 6 ½

Another fine performance by the Under 12’s. Truro batted first and scored 7 ½ rounders with some great fielding by Redruth. Truro then held a tight field restricting Redruth to 3 ½ rounders, Laura taking a fine catch and great work between Rosie (bowler) and Milly (first post). In the second innings Truro scored 10 rounders to Redruth’s  3, resulting in another great win. Top scorers today were Rosie and Nila both scoring 5 a piece.

Under 13’s: Won 18 ½ – 5

The Under 13’s defeated Redruth 18 1/2 rounder’s to 5 with excellent batting from Bimini who saw the space within the fielding structure and scored numerous rounder’s from this. The girls communicated well between posts and the back stop Molly in order to get the whole of the opposition out before the 30 good balls had been reached.

Under 14’s: Won 14-7

Having lost the toss the girls batted first notching up nine and a half rounder’s. Lily was on fine batting form and scored with all but one of her bats, placing the ball into the gaps superbly. The girls went on to field brilliantly, allowing Redruth to score just one rounder in their first batting innings. Ahead at the half time break the script was written but the girls lost focus with the second batting innings coming to a close when nine of the ten found themselves out…most were run out by their own team mates. The girls had to field well to keep the lead and excellent catches in the glaring sunshine from Lily, Lana, Abby and Anais pulled the team through with the game finishing 14-7 to us. With just one fixture to go the Under 14’s look set to maintain their unbeaten record…we face Falmouth away next Wednesday.
