The Truro Under 12’s cricket team crashed out of the county cup at the quarter final stage of the competition against Camborne on Thursday. Truro won the toss and put Camborne into bat. Losing wicket keeper Aidan Carter in the first over with a dislocated finger disrupted Truro and the bowlers struggled with consistency. Although restricting their opponents to 106 for 5 off 20 overs, they bowled some 25 wides and no balls and in total 43 extras were given to the batting side.
In reply, Truro lost opener Ben early on and struggled to get the upper hand against the bowlers. Will (31) and Alfie (14) gave Truro some hope, but with their departure, the remaining Truro batsmen were unable to continue the chase and the side fell short by 11 runs with a score of 95 for 9 off the 20 overs.
