Truro School Prep took part in the first Cornish Primary Olympiad on Friday
After a morning of Code Breaking, finding out about the Delicious World of Pi and exploring Super Powers and Wicked Roots the team were warmed up nicely for the main event in the afternoon, the competition.
Sam, Louis, Ankita, Celia and Sarang tackled an extremely tricky and difficult series of questions, such as;
6 ticks are the same as 5 tacks.
8 tacks are the same as 9 toes.
How many ticks are there in 180 toes?
Competing against 25 other schools from across Cornwall, the team did extremely well to finish the day in second place. The children all had a fantastic time and loved being immersed in numbers and problem solving for the day. They represented the school brilliantly, being great competitors, working together as a team and showing off their amazing mathematical abilities.
Ps there are 192 ticks in 180 toes!
