Truro School Hosts Cornwall Schools’ Cross Country Championships

On Saturday 24 January Truro School hosted the Cornwall Schools’ Cross Country Championships. In near perfect conditions with the sun shining and the rain holding off, the Truro School athletes performed admirably, producing some very fine results.

Our Year 7 Girls’ team of Rosie, Poppy, Laura and Elinor came in 2nd place, a great team performance showing the importance of every runner in the team.

The Junior Girls’ Team of Emily, Freya, Scarlet and Lily were placed 1st with Emily also coming in 3rd place individually. Everyone in the team came in in the top 15 which is a fantastic result.

The Year 7 boys’ team of Benjy, Will and Darcy were placed 1st with Sam also coming in 3rd place individually.

The Junior Boys’ team of Finn, Harris, Alex and Elliot was placed 1st with all four boys finishing in the top 10; Finn being placed 1st and Harris 2nd.

In the Senior Girls’ event Molly produced a superb performance to win finishing nearly a whole minute in front of her nearest rival.

A total of 10 of our young athletes have now been selected to run for Cornwall in the Regional Championships to be held in Chippenham on Saturday 7 February.
