Truro School Crowned Best Sabre-Fencing School in the Country

A 13 strong team travelled to Crystal Palace in London last week to compete in the largest fencing competition in the country, the Public Schools’ Fencing Championships.

This year we dominated every category our fencers entered and won both the Brian Howes trophy and Johnson cup, securing our position yet again as the number 1 public school at sabre fencing in the country. Full individual results are as follows:

Boys’ Senior Sabre  Bertie Holdsworth- Gold

Luke Haynes- Silver

Alex Boote- Bronze

Boys’ Junior Sabre Darcy Holdsworth – Gold

Jack Wong – Silver

Max Cromie – 7th

Boys’ Mount-Haes Sabre Roman Norris – Bronze

Sam Cox – 14th

George Livsey – 15th

Girls’ Senior Sabre Maia Fashokun – Gold

Hannah O’Reilly – Silver

Lily Wood – Bronze

Jess Jones – 11th

The combined points score of the individual results was then put towards the team trophies and our results were all the more impressive as we only competed on one of the three days and in only in one weapon category.
