Truro School Community – Get Involved
Truro Business Network
The Truro School Business Network is an opportunity for alumni, current parents, past parents, and friends of the School to meet and make connections.
Annually, we hold a Networking reunion in London to bring together former pupils of all ages, working in the city. Our aim is to bring them together to share knowledge and experience of working and living in London. We are keen to hold a second event in the South West, perhaps Bristol if there is enough interest. Please get in touch if you would be interested in taking part in a South West Networking event: email@example.com
There are several different ways in which you can get involved in helping Truro School students to make informed choices as they approach A-levels and take first steps in navigating career paths. Students benefit greatly from hearing of their predecessors’ experiences.
Every (2 years) the School holds a Careers Convention for (4th, 5th and Sixth Form students.) It is a chance for the students to speak to delegates representing a variety of organisations and professions.
During the summer holiday after the L6th , the students typically take a couple of weeks on work placements. These are great opportunities to taste the world of work before they make crucial decisions about their future education choices.
Finally, our Truro School alumni network has proved very helpful to many current students and younger former pupils as they leave university or look to change careers. Your personal stories, individual advice or focused talks all help to provide a sense of perspective and shed light on the world of opportunities.
Your help and experience is important to us – Please get involved.
