Truro Prep at Music for Youth and Cornwall Music Festival

The Prep Chamber Choir (comprising 49 musicians from Year 4 to Year 6) participated in this year’s Music for Youth Regional Festival Series held at Truro Methodist Church in February.

The pupils performed a selection of songs all on the theme of Dance. This was all good preparation for the Cornwall Music Festival in March, when the Chamber Choir sang in the Folk Song Class. They performed 2 songs totally unaccompanied; it is quite a task to keep in tune and sing correctly in parts, but they did this beautifully.

A special mention to Scarlett Clark who performed the final verse as a solo with beautiful diction and tone. The choir gained a Distinction and came first, the highest grade awarded to any school on the day. The boys also stayed on to sing in the Boys’ Choir Class in the afternoon and they also gained a Distinction.

Well done to all our singers. Lots of hard work went into their achievements.
