The penultimate weekend of the spring term saw us bathed in sunshine and pelted with hailstones! We did not let this dampen our spirit of adventure though, as some members of the house set off for D of E training, to return on Sunday rosy faced from the wind and sun.
Saturday saw a few boys opt for a trip to the cinema, whilst others stayed in house to watch a DVD and to devour pizzas and dough balls. The Playstation and pool table were also busy as the boys relaxed in each other’s company.
After our hearty brunch and with the sun still shining, we jumped into the minibus and drove north to Perranporth for a brisk, breezy walk on the beach; feeling ever grateful that last month’s storms didn’t wreck our beach retreat, the Watering Hole. The warmth of the sunshine wasn’t enough to cancel the wind chill factor; hot chocolates were cradled to warm our hands, before warming us from the inside. You can see a gallery of photos from our trip here.
Sunday evening was a time for refuelling in the company of friends in the dining hall with a full roast dinner and a choice of delicious desserts. With our stomachs full, it was time to turn our attention back to the week ahead; the library is always a hive of activity on a Sunday evening as the boys refocus their energies on their studies. As I write this, the house piano practice room is also alive with endeavour, filling the house with music.
