Trennick – Quad Biking Fun

The weekend sunshine was welcome although a rather more autumnal freshness was in the air. Heng and Anton left on Friday evening with an array of kit, to travel to Swindon for an adventurous weekend at the World Aims Convention with the Rev. A beautiful Saturday morning started with a 10 o’ clock brunch and then some of the boys turned their attentions to the Truro School vs. Blundells rugby fixtures. Rory, Leo, Kilian and Niels represented the school U16B side with flair and enjoyed a good win against the Devon side. Leo A came up to show his support for the boys and Heinrich joined him whilst also acting as chief photographer. OJ was also representing the school for the 2nd XV in their narrow defeat at home.

Simon and Michael were fortunate enough to be invited to join the girls from Poltisco House on a trip to Tolcarne beach in Newquay. They donned their wetsuits and enjoyed a great time with Elemental UK surfing under the blue skies.

The evening saw some of the boys venture into town for a meal at their favourite haunt: the Xen Noodle Bar; whilst others relaxed in the house, enjoying a game or two on FIFA 15, playing pool or watching a bit of TV. No Saturday evening in Trennick would be complete without pizzas aplenty; fresh from the Austin oven, eight pizzas were devoured in the common room in no time at all.

The rain on Saturday night had us worried as no-one wanted to miss out on the Sunday afternoon activity. Quad biking at the ATV centre was fantastic fun and a real opportunity to relax and put the school week behind us.

Whilst we were enjoying the quad biking buzz, Mrs Austin set off to Tesco’s to buy a stack of food for the Food Bank. The Trennick boys – in the charitable spirit of this Friday’s whole school charity day – have forgone their supper boxes this week to donate the equivalent value in sought after Food Bank items.

All in all, it has been a great weekend enjoying plenty of down-time before settling back to some Sunday evening prep in the library after a delicious roast dinner. Although Benjamin’s clumsy encounter with a pool table resulted in a remarkably quick trip to RCH Treliske for some glue and steri-strips!  You can see a selection of photos from our weekend here.
