During Saturday many of the boys used their time to either go into town or to use the fitness suite in the sports centre. The library was also another favourite giving the boys an opportunity to work during the day. At Saturday morning roll call it was announced that over the weekend there would be a knock-out pool competition. All 22 boys in the house were entered into the draw for an opportunity to play for the first prize which were some Domino’s Pizza vouchers. This created a great deal of interest among the boys and there were a number of tense games during the early rounds, many of which went down to the last ball. During Saturday evening a few boys were invited to socialise in Malvern, their return coincided with roll call and ‘Pizza time’. It was a little bit like a magic show as many pizzas quickly disappeared!
After brunch on Sunday the outing was to laser tag at Bombadinga’s. Two teams battled it out in the smoke-filled indoor arena. After two games of intense activity the blue team emerged triumphant scoring 82,450 points to the red’s 56,700. The blue team all stars were: Brain, Hector, OJ, Kieron, Anton, Alan, Chris and, of course, Mr L. You can see some photos from our afternoon here. On our return from the outing a number of boys requested the opportunity to go to the gym to work out: just the thing to build up an appetite before the evening meal! During the evening the library was opened and plenty of boys took the opportunity to study. The semi-finals and final of the pool competition were played, with the overall winner of this prestigious event being Heng.
