This was a relatively quiet weekend for Trennick House. On Wednesday a large number of our boarders attended a fantastic senior charity concert, which was immensely enjoyable for all.
On Thursday evening Liam and Boj went to ‘Colts’ rugby training at Redruth Rugby Club. This was Boj’s first training session at the Club and his efforts were duly noted by the Redruth coaches who promptly selected him to play on Saturday’s game against Truro Colts. Unfortunately for Liam and Boj, Saturday’s game was cancelled, but they await their next call up!
The weekend began with a full schedule of school football fixtures against Shebbear. A number of the boys from the boarding community were involved, including Trennick’s Liam making his debut for the school 2nd XI. He played in the defence and had a great game. He also brought his travelling fan club as a number of the boys from the house came out to support him in what was a rare moment for Cornwall this term, as the football matches were actually played in dry, sunny conditions!
During the evening the boys went to the Plaza cinema to watch Liam Neeson in his new film ‘Non Stop’.
Sunday brought the rain again so the boys had a relaxing day, with Joe attending rowing on Stithians Lake. The library was also opened early as there were a number of requests to study, and a steady stream of boys made use of it throughout the day.
I would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Mulready who took Klang and Cam out with her junior boys to the Flowrider in Newquay. By all accounts they had a fantastic time and can’t wait to put their new-found surfing skills into practice in the summer.
The Sunday evening meal was a traditional roast, either lamb or pork with all the trimmings. A quiet, relaxing evening was then had by all, with a number of the boys thoroughly enjoying Sunday’s edition of ‘Top Gear’.
