Top 3 in the UK for young photographer

Congratulations to Beatrice who has been awarded a 3rd place equal nationally in the Junior Category of the Rotary Young Photographer Award scheme.

This high-profile contest endeavours to encourage photography skills in young people and sees thousands of children from across the country enter each year at Junior, Intermediate and Senior Levels.

Truro School represented the Truro Rotary Club in the competition and achieved great success at the regional level with Beatrice’s entry going on to achieve a remarkable position in the national competition.

On Tuesday morning we were pleased to welcome Chris Bryce and John Simpson, President of The Rotary Club of Truro, to our Assembly to present Beatrice with her certificate and prize of a half-day workshop with a professional photographer.

The judges remarked, “Exceptionally well considered unusual angle.

John Simpson commented, “It was a real pleasure and a privilege for us on behalf of the Rotary Club of Truro to present these well-deserved awards to her. It’s worth just emphasising again what an extraordinary talent young Beatrice has displayed to think that she is in the top three out of 1700 Rotary Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland – quite remarkable.”
