Swimming Update September 2017

On the 27th of September Truro School Swim Team, with the Head of Swimming (Lee Stanbury ) competed at the ESSA South West Relay Championships in Bristol.

The Junior boys started off the swimming with the 4×50 Free, putting in a stunning display up against very tough competition from Millfield School and Kelly Collage. Closely followed by 4×50 Medley, the Junior boys also swam extremely well in this event with a very gutsy performance.

The intermediate boys events were next where the pace really picked up, fantastic turns from every swimmer gave way to some great sprinting and 50m swims.

Next up were the girls following a similar programme to the boys; again the Junior girls also showed great determination and team spirit up against very tough competition. The outstanding skill of the girls across the board from Junior to Intermediate girls was the diving, it was really great to see good distance and streamlining. Competition was tough again against high standard swimming schools such as Mount Kelly and Plymouth College.

It was fantastic to see such great team support. Congratulations to all the swimmers below who competed:

Emma Nettleton, Nancy Read, Isabelle Leigh, Scarlett Hughes, Ben Norton, Ben Coston, Alex Sim, Ben Edwards , India Castle, Evie duCros, Anya Hocking, Tegan Blackford, Sam Poppy, Max Spivey, Loki Newton, Joshua Leigh
