On Thursday 11 September Truro School had a fantastic start to the swimming season, putting up a very strong fight against Plymouth College. It was great to see so many new faces on the ever growing team, with the experienced swimmers looking after the new ones. The junior girls’ team were very strong, leading home their relay races with half a length to spare.
Individual success in the 100m freestyle, 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle as well helped boost Truro’s point score. The older, more experienced, inter-girls team also enjoyed some excellent swims, placing well in all the individual races. With the girls all swimming well it was hard for the boys not to follow. Victories were shared in the individual events with the relay teams sharing the honours, one taking the medley, the other the freestyle.
With training sessions busy and a great atmosphere in and around the pool, Truro Schools’ swimming team is on the up!
Final Results: Plymouth College: 124
Truro School: 110
