Students Push Sustainability at Truro School

This term the students have committed to reduce, reuse and recycle waste more than ever.

Pupils on the sustainability committee have identified and trialed the need to use reusable plastic bottles rather than the plastic cups used in the canteen currently. They have decided that the remaining recyclable waste needs to be collected and recycled and have produced stickers to decorate 12 new mixed recycling bins to make sure they are identifiable by students and staff.

The pupils have also been busy designing a questionnaire to ask fellow students how they feel about recycling and to raise awareness of what the school intend to recycle. Each classroom will be given a mixed recycling bin which will be emptied into main green bins.
