Students successful at Youth Speaks Competition

This week six of our students attended the first round of the Rotary Youth Speaks competition 2018.

The competition encourages speaking and presentation skills in young people and is a chance for students to showcase their skills and a public platform.

The school entered two intermediate teams to the competition. The first team consisted of Adam Norris, Oliver Thorpe and Freya Chudley whilst the second team consisted of Max Caddis, Ashay Divekar and Cam McCready.

English teacher Miss Husband, who accompanied the students to the event, said

“Both teams performed exceptionally well, and they put a lot of hard work into the preparation for the event. Truro Rotary Club praised their efforts and stressed how impressed they were.”

The second team successfully won the event and in doing so have progressed to the Area Final which will take place at Pool Academy on Friday 9 February.
