Slovenia Exchange – Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award

Last week 23 students from Skofja Loka School in Slovenia, and their staff members, visited Cornwall to participate in the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. They were hosted by Truro school families over the weekend and were shown the delights the Cornwall has to offer.
During their expedition week they were dropped off at Jamaica Inn on Bodmin Moor and walked to the North Coast, through Padstow and onto the South West Coastal Path finishing at Porthcurno. They walked over 80km during the four days and covered a variety of environments from Brown Willy, the highest point in Cornwall, to the beautiful North Coast path and the many beaches along the way.
All 23 students completed their expedition successfully and came off the moor exhausted and happy. The weather conditions were excellent giving them panoramic views across the county and they even managed to fit in some surfing at Harlyn Beach before they left. A huge thank you must go to the families that hosted these students and showed them a fantastic time while they were here. Congratulations to all 23 students from Skofja Loka School for completing their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Expedition.
