Simon Latarche to Lead Music Workshops in Liskeard

Truro School Assistant Director of Music, Simon Latarche, is set to run a series of improvisation workshops on Thursday 24 October.

The jazz pianist will work with students at Liskeard School and Community College, to help promote the love of music and music-making among young people. Simon has been involved in promoting music throughout Devon and Cornwall both as educator and performer for the past 20 years. His repertoire includes jazz standards in a variety of styles and genres.

Truro School Headmaster, Andrew Gordon-Brown, said: “It is great that we, as a school, are able to share the expertise of our teachers with other schools around the county.”

The workshops will be followed by a performance at the Eliot House Hotel, by the Simon Latarche Jazz Quartet. For this, Simon is joined by bassist Steve Turner, Terry Rodd on drums and Sarah McDonagh on saxophone and flute.
