Truro School Hockey 1st XI v Truro College WIN 4-2

The 1st hockey XI produced an outstanding team performance yesterday with the girls convincingly beating local rivals Truro College.

The first part of the match was close with both teams having chances to score and Imogen Eddison made some fantastic saves in goal . The deadlock was broken by Kitty Rolls who rebounded well to put the ball in the back of the net. This was quickly followed by a second goal where pressure from the Truro School Attack lead to a goal keeping error from Truro College.

The team grew in confidence and structure as the match progressed with Beth Rutter smashing the ball into the back of the goal from a well worked penalty corner for the third goal. On the break Amy Ellis used her pace and skill to break through the College defence to score a fantastic individual goal.

The work rate throughout the match had been really high and the girls tired in the last few minutes and conceded two late goals. This performance will form an excellent platform for the squad to build on in their upcoming matches against Duchy HC and Mount Kelly this week, with the county tournament only a couple of weeks away.
