Surfing Update October 2017

Friday 6 October – Cornwall School Games Peninsula Qualifiers.

A fantastic day at Gwithian with sun, light off shore winds and a good 2-3 foot surf was the setting for this year’s Cornwall School Games Surfing Qualifiers. We took a 16 strong team this year competing against a number of schools in the Peninsula area. The Groms made good progress through a number heats, semi’s and quarter final’s.

Congratulations to Joe Ellery for winning the year 7-9 Boy’s stand up surfing, Tegan Blackford for winning the girls year 7-11 stand up surfing, Sam Stonebridge coming 3^rd in the 10-11 years stand up surfing. A good show was also made by Finn Ellemann and Joe Ellery making it through to the final of the body board contest. The finalist’s will all progress through to the final’s next summer.
