Prep Cross Country Report: 4 December

Year 5 and 6 cross country at Polwhele House – Wednesday 21 November 2018

We took 26 children from Years 5 and 6 to Polwhele House School for inter-school cross country races with both Polwhele House School and Truro High School.

It is a tough, woodland course – about 1800m long – and the children loved the challenge of the downhill and uphill sections. You probably heard them talking about ‘garlic hill’ afterwards? Luckily for them, the course was reasonably dry and relatively fast, even through the lower woodland part of the course.

Year 5

• Five boys raced for Truro Prep: Woody, Oscar, Kayo, Ben M and Josh

They all finished in the top 8 places of their race, with Woody (1^st) and Oscar (2^nd) and Kayo (4^th) finishing in the top four placings.

• Seven girls raced for Truro Prep: Harriet, Elizabeth, Annabel, Beth, Farrah, Zara, Alice. They all finished in the top 15 places of their race, with Harriet taking 1^st

Year 6

• Seven boys raced for Truro Prep: Cassius, Oliver, Ivan, Will, Archie, Max and Jacques. They all finished in the top 10 places of their race, with Cassius (1^st), Oliver (2^nd) and Ivan (3^rd) taking the top three placings.
• Seven girls raced for Truro Prep: Daisy, Anna B, Alice, Sophie, Isabel, Myla and Bella. They all finished in the top 14 places of their race, with Daisy (4^th), Anna B (5^th), Alice (6^th) and Sophie (7^th) finishing in the top placings of a fast, competitive race.

Year 3 and 4 cross country at Polwhele House – Tuesday 27 November 2018

Heavy rain showers during the morning meant that the woodland part of the course was extremely slippery and long sections of the lower course were very muddy. In fact, Gabriel in Year 3 proudly reached the finish line wearing just one of his trail shoes. He simply said to me that he could not manage to get it out of the mud!

Year 3

• Six boys raced for Truro Prep: James, George F, Reuben, Henry, Thomas and Gabriel. They all finished in the top 9 places of their race, with James (1^st), George F (2^nd) and Reuben (3^rd) taking the top three placings.
• Two girls raced for Truro Prep: Sanna (2^nd) and Millie (3^rd).

Year 4

• Eleven boys raced for Truro Prep: Felix, Christian, Maddox, Alexander, William, James, Bradley, Trystan, Kes, Harry and Toby. Felix (1^st), Christian (3^rd) and Maddox (4^th) all finished in the top 4 places of their race.
• Five girls raced for Truro Prep: Lucy, Lilly, Clara, Ayesha and Grace. Lucy (1^st) and Lilly(4^th) both finished in the top 4 places of their race.
