U15 vs Penryn College – School Sport Magazine Cup – lost 21-31
This was a tough opening game to the season. It was very even up to half time with Truro just on top 17-14. Penryn went up a gear in the second half and left us trailing. Zoe and Rebecca showed consistency throughout the whole match with Rosie playing superbly in the first half. A disappointment for the girls but a valuable lesson learnt.
U13 vs Penryn College – School Sport Magazine Cup – lost 9-15
This was a very disappointing performance by the U13 squad. The Truro attack were intimidated by Penryn who were dominant in their play and hunger for the ball. It wasn’t until the last quarter the team rivalled Penryn for every ball and won the last quarter. The defence of Polly, Harriet and Milli must be mentioned for their tireless work.
U16 vs Penrice – won 18-15
The team got off to a flying start and with excellent movement and accurate passing saw Truro up 8-3, first quarter. With a switch of playing positions Truro supported each other well coping with a very tall defence extremely well. With Alice shooting superbly, ably assisted by Courtney, Truro kept the pressure on. Sophie, Anna and Ailsa were brilliant in defence winning lots of interceptions and denying Penrice the victory. A well fought and deserved win by the whole squad.
U14 vs Penrice – won 32-5
An excellent performance from the U14s. It was fantastic to see the girls trying to apply those skills that we had practised in the previous session. The whole squad played incredibly well trying out many more new combinations and dominated the game from start to finish.
