With only three weeks to go until half term it feels like Christmas was a long time ago, or it’s a very short half term (which it is). Nevertheless, there is a calm settled feeling in the house at the moment with everyone appreciating that the exam season is looming. Many of our girls have now received good University offers and special congratulations must go to Jasmine who has received an offer of a place at the University of Oxford following her interview before Christmas.
This weekend the house felt fairly empty, most of our boarders decided to either go home or go and stay with friends, consequently when Yuki and Chloe went to the cinema on Saturday evening we only had three girls left in which seemed strange but also lovely to be able to spend quality time with just these young ladies. On Sunday we decided to experience some Cornish culture and the Malvern Girls joined forces with the Pentreve girls and we all went to have a look around Trelissick House, which is about three miles away. We walked over the fields to the beach and then through the woods and on up to the tea garden where we all ate some delicious cake, although one plate got smashed and two pieces ended up on the floor so it wasn’t quite the peaceful event I had envisaged. Nevertheless, a good day was had by all.
This week is as busy as ever with L6th parents evening on Monday followed by a variety of sporting and musical events throughout the remainder of the rest of the week. We are also preparing for half term in the boarding house so if you haven’t sent us your daughters travel arrangements yet (only overseas pupils need to do this) then please could I ask you to do this as soon as possible. I hope that you all have a lovely week and I will email again in two weeks when I am back on weekend duty.
