Horse riding has been our weekend activity this week, which for me is really exciting not only because I love horse riding but also because I know that this activity signals the start of spring for us in boarding. The weather hasn’t unfortunately kept up with my weekend activity list but I am hoping that at least in the next two weeks we will begin to feel the warmth of the long expected sun.
This week as ever has been a busy one for us in boarding. On Monday the U6th had their group photo which is always fun and in the future will I am sure be placed on many walls around the world. Tuesday was the 6th form drama trip to London, which although amazing did make for a very early start and late return for many of our pupils. On Wednesday and Thursday was the Public Schools Fencing Championships at Crystal Palace, Friday was charity day and finally on Saturday some of our boarders took part in the National Schools Cross Country Championships at Norwich whilst others attended the Cornwall Youth Theatre Company’s presentation of Caucasian Chalk Circle. Life is certainly never dull down here in Truro.
The week ahead is also busy but I am aware that our boarders are getting quite tired and a little stressed about the imminent onset of exams so in the house we are doing our best to keep the atmosphere relaxed and calm and with only two weeks left to go we will probably have to bring in the chocolate supplies along with hefty doses of ice-cream to keep the energy levels high until the end.
I hope that you all have a good week and a very happy Easter and I shall look forward to sending another blog once we return after the Easter holidays.
