It has been yet another busy week for the Trennick boys. The 5th form have been frantically revising for their upcoming mock exams – their focus and determination have impressed us all and we hope that they perform to their very best. The weekend began with the decorating of the house with Henry, Tristan and Jay to the fore. The common room seems to have transformed into Santa’s grotto! Saturday evening was another opportunity for the boys to show their bottomless capacity for pizza and breaded chicken – this is a great social time and brings the boys together.
Brunch on Sunday was taken after a much appreciated lie in and was followed by the weekend activity of ‘Bubble Football’. The junior boys joined us and teams were mixed up. The football was fairly incidental as the boys enjoyed the opportunity to run into each other, safe in their inflated plastic bubbles. Their were some amazing collisions with Ethan, Joe, Rob and Fahed proving to be particularly destructive. A highlight for the boys was the opportunity to get some revenge on Mr Kitto and Mr Thompson, who went home battered and bruised.
Sunday evening saw the annual Boarders Christmas Party, this began with a Christmas service in the chapel led by the Rev. All of the boarders sang beautifully and it was incredible to hear Christmas greetings in so many languages. Following this the catering staff laid on a delicious Christmas meal which culminated in speeches from each house. Henry gave an excellent account of the year to date and Trennick awards were given to Andrey and Josh (for use of hair products), Ayobami (for timekeeping), Ethan (for his bluntness) and Sammy (for maintaining international relations). The festivities continued with ‘DJ Lawerence’ filling the dance floor with his selection of dance tracks. The Trennick boys were well represented at the dance off and special mention must go to Dom and Chris for their amazing moves. Most of the boys were glad to find their beds, ready for another busy week ahead.
