The boys, especially in the 5th Year and U6, have really started to study hard in preparation for their upcoming GCSE and A-level exams. Many boarders have made good use of the library over the long weekend.
The 4th Years and L6 visited Flambards Theme Park on Monday and great fun was had by all – the dodgems and skyforce were especially popular. Tima enjoyed the ‘demon drop slide’ and claims that it has cured him of being scared of heights! The other trip of the weekend was to nearby Perranporth beach for a surf lesson while the English Junior Championships were on. The beach was busy on a beautiful day and the boys enjoyed the surf lesson despite the challenging waves. The boarders’ Saturday surf club starts again next weekend and it would be great if several more boys signed up.
On Saturday evening the sun shone and the boys enjoyed a BBQ organised by Theo. Theo was extremely helpful and cooked many burgers which seemed to disappear as fast as they were cooked!
Some other highlights of the week included Obum joining in with a choir from South Africa who were performing in the school assembly. Roman N has been crowned U16 British sabre fencing champion. The boarders also enjoyed another fine chapel service with the Rev on Wednesday evening.
Another week of hard work beckons, with a reward of visiting the St. Ives Food festival on Saturday.
