I have had a great weekend with the Trennick students and could not be more proud of their achievements and helpful and positive engagement with the different activities on offer over the weekend.
On Friday evening Majed and Duncan again played in a basketball match for Truro Men’s Basketball Team – they reported an easy match with a thirty point margin!
Eight Trennick students travelled up to arch-rivals King’s Taunton to play rugby for the school. Alfie, Callum, Fahed, Justas, Ethan, Dom and Tony enjoyed their day out and came back reporting tough matches with an important victory for the school 1st XV. It was great seeing Callum receiving his senior colours and Tony receive his half colours during the school assembly on Friday. Of equal significance was Ethan scoring his first try for the 2nd XV and kicking a conversion. Both Dom and Ethan have recently taken up the sport and have shown great commitment to the team.
Saturday afternoon saw the boys help Mrs. Copeland decorate the Common Room. This was followed on Saturday evening by another cookery lesson in the house kitchen. The boys seemed to really enjoy learning to cook Mexican food – they all definitely enjoyed the eating part of the evening!
The house travelled to Plymouth on Sunday afternoon for a fantastic afternoon of skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing. Next week the winter sports theme will continue with a trip to the Ice Skating at the Eden Project.
