Senior Boys’ Boarding Blog – 20 November

The Trennick boys enjoyed another busy weekend, Friday night say several boys head to the cinema with the new Thor film the chosen screening. There was an an early start on Saturday for Alfie, Ollie and Justas as they traveled up to Shebbear School to play rugby. Despite their best efforts, Truro School ended up coming second in a tightly contested match.

Also on Saturday morning, Kobe, Alec, Cyrus, Chris, Majed and Duncan volunteered to help out various staff members, running activities for a group of 65 prospective students. All of the boys showed great commitment and reliability and I know the members of staff greatly appreciated their efforts. Volunteering for activities such as this is an extremely positive experience to add to University applications and I would encourage more of the boys to take these opportunities.

Saturday evening saw Alec organise and excellent quiz on company mottos and taglines, he also oversaw the cooking of the traditional Saturday night pizzas ensuring all the boys got their fill. Well done to Anthony and his team who came out on top!

On Sunday, we headed down to the local Boscawen Park, taking footballs, basketballs, rugby balls and a ‘Smite’ set (an ancient Cornish game). The boys enjoyed the chance to get some fresh air and it was great to see them enjoying some sporting fun. Although light rain came in, the boys did not let it dampen their spirits and they were rewarded with a variety of hot chocolates, coffees and milkshakes before returning to the house. Sunday evening saw the boys work hard to tidy up the house and get their prep work done ready for the week ahead.
