Another active weekend in Trennick House, fuelled by good food and good company.
On Thursday, we hosted Blaj from Slovenia who is part of the exchange group visiting Truro School this week.
Lorenz and Finley went away on Friday night with the English and Art Department for a joint visit to The Lizard where they were exploring poetry and art to compliment their A Level studies.
Saturday saw the boys relaxing and socialising during the day and enjoying some barbecued steaks in the evening alongside a table tennis competition – but only after they had actually helped to build the new Trennick House barbecue!
All boarders took part in a team building day on Sunday at Adrenalin Quarry in nearby Penryn which involved both the boys and girls working in teams to complete a number of challenges based around two former quarries which are now filled with water. After building rafts which had to actually be able to transport them across the water and ‘coasteering’ around the walls of the quarry taking care not to fall in, the boarders returned tired and ready for a great Sunday roast provided by our catering staff.
We are very proud of Callum who went to to Lady Margaret Hall at Oxford University on Friday to present an essay he had written for the John Locke Institute Essay Competition. He had been shortlisted from among entries from one hundred and one countries and found out during the gala dinner that he had won the prize for the History and Politics category – what an incredible achievement!
Our Upper Sixth students are all now thinking about their plans for next year and starting to write applications for universities around the world.
