Senior Boy’s Boarding Blog: 14 May

It has been a quiet weekend at Trennick with many of the boys realising just how close their exams are. Friday night saw the boys enjoy the weather, with the table tennis table being set up in the quad. Saturday saw Dom take to the waves at the weekly surf club, weather was not so kind to the surfers this week although as Dom pointed out, they were going to get wet whatever! Saturday was a quiet day with much studying being done and a lot of the boys taking the opportunity to have a stroll around town. Alec played chef as usual on Saturday night, with an increasing proportion of the weekend food budget going on ice lollies – much welcomed in the current warm weather!

Sunday saw the lower 6th and Dom head out to St Ives to visit the beach and pop in to the incredible food festival at Porthminster. With Jay and Ollie off visiting relatives and the Upper sixth and 5th years revising hard it was nice to join up with the other boarding houses for the trip. The first stop was for an ice cream from a local manufacturer “Moomaids of Zennor” with 3 scoops for everyone nobody went hungry and all agreed that the quality was superb. The boys then wandered through the town to the beach where they took their chance to sample the incredible local food at the festival. With the sun shining, music blaring and delicious smells every way you turned, the boys really enjoyed this. The day was completed with a train ride across the incredible coastline before returning to School.

We wish all of the boys good luck as their exams begin in earnest. I am sure that the hours of study will pay off!
