Happy New Year to all parents and guardians from Trennick boarding house!!
It was great to welcome the boys back for the start of term and encouraging to hear that Santa had visited all of them – they were clearly all good boys in 2018! Two new boarders joined Trennick – Alfie P from Cornwall is now a weekly boarder, and Roman from Switzerland joined as a full boarder. James, Obum and Theo have been especially welcoming and helped the new boarders settle in to the evening and weekend routines.
This week the Lower Sixth have been kept busy with domestic exams; their attention now turns to writing prefect applications. It has been encouraging to see how many of the Lower Sixth are applying for both department and boarding prefects.
It has been a busy week of sports. Obum scored a goal on his debut for the school football team. Alfie P and James played for the winning U16 rugby team on Wednesday evening in the County Cup Final. Jack and Roman have been away to an international fencing tournament in Meylan, France. Alfie B and Callum represented Irish Exiles U18 rugby squad on Sunday.
At the weekend Tony organised a play-station FIFA 19 tournament, which he went on to win! Justas and Ollie kindly cooked pizzas for everyone on Saturday evening. On Sunday the boys enjoyed a trip to an award winning fish and chip restaurant in Falmouth which has great views over the harbour. They all still managed a roast dinner a few hours later when we returned to school!
