Truro 2nd XV recorded their fourth victory of the season in challenging conditions at Helston yesterday.
The first half was dominated by the Truro pack, commanding territory and outmuscling their opposition at all of the set pieces. Truro did suffer from a lack of effective distribution, and a number of handling errors meant they were unable to capitalise on their territorial advantage. They finished the first half 10-0 up, with tries from Ollie Young and a powerful run by James Bishop.
The second half saw an improvement by the visiting Truro side, and the strength of the forwards enabled a flurry of scoring opportunities. Newcomer Nick Trafford scored his first try for the team whilst a late effort by Scott Dunstan – which was converted by Fred Young – gave Truro a comfortable victory.
