A busy Wednesday saw our U14 and U16 sides travel to King’s Taunton, where both faced very strong opponents, losing 36-12 and 39-0 respectively. However, the boys can take many positives from playing matches of this quality.
On the same day the U12, U13, U14B and U16B sides played Liskeard. The U12s convincingly won 50-0, the U13s won 58-17, whilst two tough games against Liskeard A saw the U14Bs lose heavily 40-0 and the U16Bs lose 48-7.
On Thursday 14 November, the U14 side played their second game in successive days, defeating Mounts Bay in the County Cup.
On Saturday 16 November the school played eleven matches against Exeter School, winning seven, drawing one and losing two.
Missing five players who were having South West U18 trials and two other injured players, the 1st XV earned a creditable 15-15 draw with tries by James Rowe and Dan Whitmore.
The 2nd XV were involved in a closely fought game with the lead changing hands four times throughout the match. A last minute try by Exeter gave the visitors a 15-10 win. In the junior matches, Exeter cancelled the U16 fixture.
The U15 fixture was played as a Round 5 Nat West Cup match, and Truro edged another tight game 12-5 giving the opportunity to play Millfield or Sherborne in round 6. The U15B side had a comfortable 45-0 win. The U14A side won 39-0 and the U14Bs won 19-0.
The U13As had a good 32-10 win, whilst in a fiercely contested U13B match Exeter were victorious 12-10.
The U12As came back from 10-0 down to earn a good 12-10 win and the U12B side were victorious at 19-0.
Congratulations go to Locryn Williams, Ollie Williams, Sam Wheeler, Will Whitworth and Dan Rutter who earned South West U18 Final trials.
