Truro School 2nd XV 24 – 10 Plymouth College 2nd XV
Truro 2nd XV recorded their second victory in four days with a comfortable win against rivals Plymouth College.
The early exchanges were dominated by the Truro forwards, and the strength of James Bishop and Liam Kirkby in particular looked to be too much for the opposition. Some neat play enabled winger Chris Vroon in for an early score, which was comfortably converted by Harvey Jones. From the restart, Truro continued in a similar manner and further tries from Mike Ahrens and Scott Dunstan gave the home side a 17-0 lead at half time.
The second half saw an improvement by the visiting Plymouth side, and a determined effort enabled them to get ten points on the board via a converted try and penalty. However, the resilience of the Truro team was to shine through for the remainder of the match, and some good work by Mawgan Ibbotson enabled Ahrens to run in his second try of the match, which was converted by Fred Young.
