Rounders Update – 4 May 2016

Vs Truro High School

Under 12 Won 10-7

The Under 12 started strongly, with sound hitting and good decision making. When fielding, 2nd base was backed up well, and some clean catching meant we finished the first innings in the lead. Truro High came back with some string fielding, and a few of our players were out, which threw the team slightly. Despite a weaker fielding innings Truro school managed to hold on to their lead for a well-earned victory.
Under 13 Drew 7 ½ – 7 ½

The Under 13 performed well in their first rounders game of the season drawing against their closest rivals Truro High School. Losing the toss the girls batted first and got off to a slow start scoring just three and a half rounders. In their first fielding innings the girls played well with the deadly duo of Milly and Elinor as back stop and first post stumping a number of players out. Going into the second innings and having conceded five rounders the girls were behind and determined to score. Risks were taken and the girls added four further rounders to their tally. In the knowledge that conceding any more than two and a half rounders would see them lose the game the girls fielded strongly. Some super fast bowling from Scarlett kept the big hits at bay and again the girls worked hard, catching or stumping out seven of the ten batters. Zoe, Nila and Jess worked tirelessly as deep fielders and the team did well to claw a draw back. Seven and a half rounders a piece was a fair reflection of the game. We are looking forward to the rest of the rounders season.
Under 14 Won 16-5
