Four rugby players from Truro School’s 1st XV team have been selected to represent the South West Under 18 side in divisional matches against the North, Midlands and London and South East in the new year.
Locryn Williams, Will Whitworth and Dan Rutter were selected, with Ollie Williams on standby as replacement.
Locryn, who currently captains Cornwall’s Under 18 team and is an Exeter Chiefs Academy player said: “It is a great reflection of the quality of rugby at Truro School and across Cornwall. I’m very proud to be a part of it.”
Sam Wheeler was also selected for the trials, which were held in Bristol last weekend, but was unable to participate due to injury.
Graham Whitmore, Director of Sport at Truro School, said: “This is a huge achievement to have five players from one school trialling at this level and, with three selected for the South West, they are only one step away from an England U18 Schools and Clubs place.”
