House Cross Country Report

Thursday 8 January and Wednesday 9 January 2019

It was such a complete delight to have the cross country course back in action, following the extensive recent building works, which had restricted our access to the main woods for cross country events during the build.

Dry, bright conditions prevailed, producing some great racing on both days. The children were very excited about the course and they created a happy, supportive atmosphere – where all finishers were given a huge cheer and smile at the finish.

Cross country training is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays after-school. New this year is the Monday mile club – at which children can achieve distance certificates every five sessions, starting with their ‘5 miles certificate.’

Congratulations to all of our regular 5k park runners. In particular, to Archie, Oliver and Jowan (Year 6) and Trystan (Year 4) who are achieving some very impressive times each week. In particular, to Archie (Year 6) who has recently completed his 50th park run on Christmas Day. That’s an astonishing total of 250K!
