The school gathered together on Friday morning for our act of remembrance. Mr MacQuarrie read the fourth stanza of Laurence Binyon’s poem, For the Fallen:
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
I am grateful to Mr Pope who played ‘Last Post’ and ‘Reveille’. After a minute’s silence and a closing prayer, pupils made their way quietly back to lessons. Truro Prep is involved in the act of remembrance in Truro on Sunday where we will be laying a wreath at the war memorial in town.

Anonymous Art Auction
Many thanks to those parents and children who supported the Friends’ Anonymous Art Auction on Thursday evening at the Heseltine Gallery; there were over 85 works of art available for auction, including three surprise entries that were auctioned at the end to great excitement and applause. The event supported the ‘Wave Project’; I look forward to hearing how much was raised. Thank you to the Friends for their tireless work in putting together important events such as this. Please put the next date in your calendars: Friday 18th November from 18.30 – 20.30 is the Prep School Quiz and Curry Night – come and enjoy an evening of fun and delicious food.
Big Spotacular Day
Our School Council continue their work organising the ‘Big Spotacular Day’ that will also take place on Friday 18th November in support of Children in Need. A reminder that this is the day where children will wear clothing that reflects their house colour and will hopefully be covered in spots, too!
