Poltisco – Reindeer Food and Christmas Cards

It has been a busy weekend for all our girls. The build-up to Christmas has certainly been exciting with lots of different activities taking place during the week, as well as at the weekend too. Firstly this week, the Poltisco girls were all involved to give a Chapel service to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year pupils. Their presentation was on feminism and included the lovely hymn ‘Shine, Jesus Shine’. The Rev was so impressed with the girls that he asked them to deliver the Chapel service again on Thursday to the 4th and 5th Year students. This was a great experience for all of the girls, from Chole organising the presentation to the girls who spoke on stage, which included Emily, Rebecca and Sophia. By the weekend the girls were looking forward to the school’s Christmas fair that was held on Saturday. The Poltisco girls had helped Miss Hargreaves and Mrs Lawrence to make 90 bags of reindeer food and had also made some home-made Christmas cards to sell on the boarders’ stall. All of the money raised from the boarders’ stall was donated to charity: the Children’s Hospice South West. It was a busy day at the school fair and the girls rightly enjoyed their well-deserved, delicious supper.

On Sunday we went into Truro town centre to see the Christmas fair on Lemon Quay. At mid-day a convoy of Truro School minibuses took all of the boarders to the Eden Project where they all got the chance to ice skate, followed by some time in the different biomes. Lots of the pupils loved the Mediterranean biome and a festive hot chocolate helped them warm up! You can see some photos from our weekend here. We got back in time for supper: a lovely traditional roast; and we finished the evening with some TV and prep.
