This week has been packed full of gym sessions, school, extra-curricular activities, choir practices and dance rehearsals. As the weekend began on Friday night the girls enjoyed staying up to watch About a Boy, starring Hugh Grant, on TV. On Saturday we had the afternoon activity of hula-hooping with the amazing Charlotte from InspirAsian Dance. Charlotte describes the session as “a mixture of waist and hand hooping, starting with basic manipulation of the hoop progressing onto tricks with a view to developing an individual style”. Nicolette quickly got the hang of the hula-hoop and was waist hooping for ages. We learnt how to create smooth transitions between moves using our hands and twirling. Charlotte even showed us how to recover if we dropped our hoop and make it look like we had done it on purpose – fantastic! At the end of the session we used the hula-hoop to help stretch out. You can see some photos from our afternoon here.
We decided that in the evening we deserved to watch a film and ordered several pizzas, including pepperoni (most popular) and BBQ chicken. Emma, Maren, Katarina and Bryony decided to also go to our local supermarket to get some sweet treats, including cookies – a great way to end the day. Sunday was a chill out day, with swimming on offer for those who fancied a leisurely swim or a stroll into town to the shops. Nicolette went to Falmouth to perform in a choir concert in the morning which she really enjoyed. Now, we are looking forward to the Sunday roast the kitchen will serve us this evening.
