The girls are feeling well and truly settled after just a few weeks here at Truro School. Henrike and Ann-Kathrin said to me on Friday night how they felt they have known each other for at least a year!
On Saturday the girls enjoyed spending time perusing the shops in Truro City centre. In the evening all the girls went out to eat and they ate a mixture of pizzas and Chinese. Afterwards they went to the Plaza cinema on Lemon Street to watch the second film in the Maze Runner Trilogy. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is a 2015 American dystopian science fiction action thriller film. The film has been based on James Dashner’s novel The Scorch Trials. All the girls enjoyed watching it, even if some were a bit sleepy!
On Saturday night we celebrated Cherry’s birthday! Cherry had happy birthday sung to her in Chinese which the other girls had practiced over the weekend. They enjoyed singing, eating (cake and popcorn) and sharing different funny videos in the living room until it was time for bed.
On Sunday the girls had a session on First Aid with Barry. This is part of the ongoing residential curriculum for the boarders. The girls all agreed that first aid is very important and something they would like to know more about. Barry showed the girls a range of techniques including CPR, how to dress a wound and how to help someone who is choking. Now they definitely feel more confident about helping someone if they were in need.
Sunday night means settling down and getting ready for the week. Zennor has been working hard for Drama and had drama practise on both Saturday and Sunday, preparing her for her GCSE. Amelie is practising her trumpet and Helena is doing her ICT homework. The girls have got their bags packed and uniforms fresh out of the laundry ready for week 4!
