Congratulations to the 16 children who qualified for the Partnership Cross Country Finals at Pool Academy on Tuesday 25 February 2014.
The course is flat and fast, and the children had to cope with the usual demands of changeable weather, whilst competing against the top eight children from each of the different areas in the Penryn Sports Partnership. The most difficult area was the start line, with an average of 60 children, all trying to get off to a good start in muddy conditions.
The top 15 finishers from each race were selected to represent the Penryn area in the County Finals at Newquay on Thursday 13 March 2014. Congratulations to the six children, who have been selected for the next round, and are highlighted in bold below:
Year 4: Max. C (10th) and Joanna (36th)
Year 5: Jason (22nd), Millie (33rd), Gwen (29th), Milo (28th) and Max B (29th)
Year 6: Sam (1st), William (2nd), Darcy (28th), Rosie (3rd), Poppy (5th), Elena (11th), Laura (18th)
We were really impressed with Joanna and Max B, neither of whom were feeling 100%, but who showed real determination and competed to the very best of their ability. And finally, get well soon to Evelyn and Eve, who were sadly both unable to run at Pool Academy.
