Forest School

We are proud to have outstanding Forest School provision and facilities at Truro School Nursery, with three distinctive areas; a coniferous woodland, a broadleaf woodland and a wildlife woodland.

Our fabulous environment lends itself to a multitude of stimulating learning experiences so that the children develop many different new skills that just could not happen in an indoor classroom.

Developing an interest in the Great Outdoors

Forest School, unlike other woodland learning experiences, is based on over 30 years of research and good practice from Scandinavia.

Forest School teaching supports, encourages and inspires the individual’s learning process, allowing the children to learn at their own pace by developing curiosity in the world around them, which in turn feeds back into their learning in the classroom.

Forest School Co-ordinators

Truro School Nursery believes passionately in the benefits of Forest School and outdoor learning.

We have two fully qualified and highly skilled Forest School Co-ordinators who through their training are able to bring out the most from the outdoor learning environment.

The Truro School Identity

Our school motto, Esse Quam Videri (to be, rather than to seem to be), captures the essence of our identity and is defined by the 5 C's below. Underpinned by strong Christian principles, we are a caring and inclusive community which values, nurtures and develops each individual.
