Netball Update – 17 January

Netball Summary, week beginning 8 January 2018.

Under 12 v Truro Prep Lost 13-14

In a closely contested match against Truro Prep School, the Under 12 netball team narrowly missed out on a victory. In the first quarter, despite some excellent interceptions by our circle defence the Prep school edged ahead to win the first quarter 7-4. Truro fought back in the second quarter, scoring 3 goals in quick succession, the second quarter ended 8-7 to Prep. Both sides struggled to find space in the third quarter and were showing sides of tiredness, with only one goal being scored by the Prep team. Two goals behind going into the final quarter saw the Truro team make a determined effort to close the gap. The Under 12s soon drew level and it was a nail biting quarter going goal for goal. Plenty of interceptions were made, but as the excitement took hold, errors also crept in. In the closing minutes an incorrect throw-in meant the Prep school had an extra goal scoring opportunity which they took to win the game 14-13.
