Under 18 vs Camborne, Won 31:4
Opposition’s player = Jess Pascoe
Coach’s player = Laura Ellis
The Under 18 squad pulled out a show-stopper for their final match of the term. Many combinations were trialled ahead of the regional finals in January and the whole squad performed well. After a shaky start, Marina dominated in defence, whilst Laura played her heart out in every position she was put in. Christina, Katie and Billie were all dominant and controlled in the centre. Well done girls!
PSP vs Falmouth
Under 12, Won 15:2
The Under 12s played with great commitment against a much larger Falmouth team. The team quickly learnt they couldn’t try pass over defenders, and so changed the game a lot by incorporating other types of passing and making good leads. The Under 12s were an unstoppable force, moving quickly once they had the ball and some accurate shooting from Rosie and Laura meant we were converting these opportunities into goals. Due to the bad weather, we were only able to play three short thirds, but the girls showed how strong they are with a great win.
Under 13, Won 7:5
The Under 13s successfully defeated Falmouth, but throughout the match they didn’t drive forward for the ball which enabled Falmouth to make numerous interceptions. As the girls play more netball next term they will gain a greater understanding of the concept of ‘timing’, and as a result will be more effective in getting the ball to goal.
Under 14, Won 17:6
The Under 14 squad were in control from the start of the game. Each squad member defended when Falmouth were on the attack, forcing them to make passing errors or Truro making interceptions and scoring off these. Great squad effort.
Under 15, Won 19:2
With a different starting line-up and with the light fading fast, the Under 15s took control from the whistle playing fast flowing netball and winning lots of turnovers and converting them to goal. A pleasing performance, well done.
