Netball Summary – Week beginning 9 February

Under 15’s Cornwall County Netball Tournament

P: 8 W: 7 L:1 GF:106 GA:21

On a bitterly cold but dry day the Under 15’s were eager to go one better and take top spot! With 24 schools competing, the team displayed some controlled play in the first four group stage matches, with excellent whole team defending. They turned over the ball readily, getting into their stride and winning all four games comfortably.

The final play-offs for positions 1-5 meant four more tough matches. First up Penair, unfortunately Truro were a little slow out of the blocks and were three goals down before replying, unforced errors saw Penair capitalize and take the win. The team rallied, recovered and won the remaining three matches vs Penryn, Truro High and Helston, securing second place overall; a well deserved result.

Under 12A

Won 17-2

An excellent game against Penair using 11 of our under 12’s in various different playing combinations. Truro dominated from start to finish, displaying excellent timing and movement. Truro made many turnovers. This was excellent preparation for the upcoming County Tournament.

Under 12B

Won 5-3

With a squad of 10 the B’s also had a great game. The sides were evenly matched, but Truro’s determination and great turnovers by Franny lead to a win.

Under 13

Lost 14 – 21

The Under 13’s who were missing a couple of key players showed their versatility by moving into various positions on the court and displaying great team work skills. Aerin performed well in defence and Zoe dominated in centre court. Much progress has been made as a squad and the future looks promising for this talented squad. Molly was voted player of the match.
